Second, if you are a cat lover, be sure and keep an eye on my future auctions -- I have and will be listing cat art charity auctions for the Alley Cat Allies (feral cat - trap, neuter, and release program). The link to their website is here on my site in the right sidebar.  These auctions will be 100% donation of the sale which is sponsored by Mission Fish.

I just recently had one of these auctions for a small cat art painting which sold. That money will go to help pay medical expenses for a wild (feral) alley cat to be neutered/spayed, shots, and any misc. medical treatment before being released back to his/her home.  This group is attempting to control the pet overpopulation with sterilizing the animals already there instead of killing them.  They work and travel all over the United States helping to set these programs up in towns/areas and provide donation monies when needed for implementation of medical care for these cats.

I hope everyone is enjoying their summer.  July 4th is just around the corner with fireworks and family barbeques.  The art card ebay group ACEO will be hosting "Freedom" theme week art cards which starts on July 18th.  Be sure and check it out.  Simply type ACEO Freedom Theme Week into the ebay search box for all results of the artists that participate.  I am excited about seeing what the artist's create.

Art Card Info:

Art cards can either be thin items custom cut to 2 1/2" X 3 1/2", then painted, pen/ink, pencil colored, collaged, or a mixture of all to create -- or, regular playing cards can be used.

Art cards are affordable,collectable, and unique for displaying -- example: purchase a small photo album or buy an altered photo album -- store your art cards within and display on your coffee table -- is an awesome conversation piece when you have company -- and everyone will want to look at your collection. 

Unique and Original art cards can be found on ebay for as little as 99 cents, most shipping costs within the states is $1.00 to $1.50, and most artists either waive the shipping costs or combine your shipping costs for a substantial savings.

There really are some unbelievably awesome artists out there that create art cards !

Grass grows almost instantly here in East Texas this time of the year.  So I am spending much of my time doing yard work for myself, friends, and family.

However, I have managed to paint here and there  -- mostly art cards.  I've added my latest creations below.

I've had an extremely busy schedule with the end of the school year events.  The son finishes his sophomore year with the scholastic honor roll and athletic banquets, and the daughter wraps up her 7th grade year winning 3rd place in district tennis.

I've also been busy painting. Here are a few of the new ones !

Monochrome paintings are paintings done in one color in various shades. Below are four that I have done.

Today, I changed the "Artist of the Month" in the right sidebar. This month features Conni Togel from Colorado.  She is a really sweet lady and an awesome artist.

One is textured, it was painted with a painting knife.

Wouldn't you know that my 'Featured Artist of the Month' hasn't a thing for sale on eBay. Her items went off yesterday and she hasn't listed anything else.  Let's hope that she corrects that sometime today. If not, I will go ahead and post May's Artist of the Month a little early.

Abstract -- people either love it or hate it -- or so I thought for many years. Myself being of the "hate it" group.  After having been exposed to it and having actually looked within abstracts, I found that there were quite a few of them that I liked.  Even a few that moved me.  Click on the link below to browse some abstract paintings:

Ever seen the art term 'plein air'  as in 'plein air painting' -- have you wondered what the heck does that mean? Sounds fancy, doesn't it? Well,  plein air simply means that the painting was done outside on location.   Here is a link to a few 'plein air' paintings for sale on ebay.

Ever seen or heard the phrase 'art card' or 'art trading card'? Art cards are very small paintings,prints, collages, etc. Approximately around the size of 2 1/2" X 3 1/2" so as to fit in a trading card notebook or sleeve (like baseball cards).  If you like to collect, and you like art, this is a space-saving plus affordable avenue.  Artists from all areas participate in producing art cards. On eBay, some card prices start at 99 cents and shipping is minimal (from 75 cents to 1.50), and alot of these cards are originals.

It's a breezy cool day here in East Texas with lots of sunshine

Grab you a cup of java and lets get started.

I have decided to feature a different artist every month here on this site.  These will be artists that I find their artwork exceptional for one reason or another. The link will be in the right sidebar. Even if you are not shopping for art, you should take a minute and view their work.  Art can evoke many emotions, and move the soul.  Consider it a relaxing break in your busy day.

This month, I have featured "StillRun" who is out of New Orleans.  I have eyed her art for over a year and a half or more. She calls herself a Visionary Artist.  I find her paintings to be truly exceptional in their uniqueness.  I have linked to her art for sale. She has new art weekly.

I have added two new art items for sale -- "Blue Moon Goddess" art card and "Nature Set #1" rock art -- the nature set is pretty neat -- it is a salamander rock, a leaf rock, and a flower rock -- a perfect trio to incorporate with plants or indoor waterfalls -- I really had a lot of fun painting them.

My cat "T" came home last night with ear mites. I tell him it is the company he keeps. Anyway, as I was out browsing the web for a home remedy for this malady (olive oil, by the way, looks to be the key)(although, I guess corn oil works also) I came across this neat site of home remedies, which I thought I would share with all of you.  You can never be too informed. http://www.earthclinic.com/remedies.html

Top of the Morning To All........

It is unbelievably cold here this morning or should I say unseasonably cold lolol ! Surely it will warm up later.

Tam, I saw your picks of your yard yesterday --- Call me if you change your mind

My boy went to District yesterday in Tennis, and placed Consolation (5th) -- he left out about 6:30 am and got in around midnight ---- looooong day for him --- so Tennis is over until next year -- he will be job hunting around the area soon -- so wish him luck

The countryside is beautiful here in East Texas this time of year.  Different shades of green greet you everywhere you look.  Just makes you want to pick up your paints and paintbrush and head outside to catch the colors before they are gone.
